ONE NATION ONE RATION CARD
About the Scheme

One nation one ration card is a scheme of the central government under which a beneficiary can purchase food grains at
subsidized price from a ration shop anywhere in the country using the same
ration card.

This scheme is implemented by the ministry of
consumer affairs, food, and public distribution.
Why in News?
· The minister of consumer affairs, food, and
public distribution Mr. Ramvilas Paswan has stated that this scheme will be
implemented all over the country by July 1, 2020.
·
At present this scheme has been implemented in
10 states and union territories.
Benefits of this scheme
·
This scheme is implemented in order to ensure
that no poor is deprived of PDS entitlement if that person migrates from one city to another within the country.
·
This scheme may also eliminate those persons who
holds fake ration cards.
